TSX gains more than 300 points on basic materials stocks
TORONTO — Canada's main stock index rose more than 300 points Friday, with basic materials stocks leading the gains, while U.S. stock markets were closed for the July Fourth holiday. The S&P/TSX composite index was up 308.17 points at 35,274.
